Fragrance Review

Lola By Marc Jacobs

This is the latest fragrance by Marc Jacobs following the release and huge success of Daisy,I just got this perfume as a birthday present from a very good friend of mine (Shout out to Yemi) and I have decided to do a review on it.

First of all the packaging (the box) is sexy, if you didnt know that Marc Jacobs has a fragrance called Lola you would think there was something more glamourous inside the box (for a minute I was expecting Jewellry). When I opened the box, I was greeted by one of the most fabulous packaging I have see so far for a perfume bottle (its better than Daisy).

As for the smell, Lola has that warm smell to it, not a fan but this perfume made me a believer. On one hand Lola can be described as a girly pink cocktail of red fruit and warm musk as it starts out smelling sweet and fruity, but just as you start to get used to the smell,it transcends to a powdery floral like smell with a vintage twist. The luxury of of its floral bouquet reminded me of Guerlain's Jardins de Bagatelle but Lola's is much more subtle. It definately reminds me of a fragrance that could have been worn in the early 20's, its sexy but not too sexy but it would definately encourage your man to snuggle closer. It reminds me alot of J'adore by Dior so if you liked that you would definately like this.

Lola is for a woman who is seductive, a woman who is hot and is not afraid to flaunt it. She is confident that every time she puts on her stilletos she would be noticed, this woman is not afraid to flirt, she is playful, mysterious and exudes luxury.

Lola is the perfect fragrance for a date or whenever you want to feel sexy as it is memorable and the bottle is something you would want to keep forever!

All in all I would give this fragrance a 4 out of 5 because it has a very strong staying power and it appeals to women from 20 and above.
Definately a good idea for a christmas gift.

Eyeliner Tips

Tip 1:
One really good trick for putting eyeliner on your upper lid is: you do lines as if your connecting the dots like this: - - - -; and then once you have your upper eye lid like that, you fill in the missing spaces and you have a straight line!

Tip 2:
Close your eyes almost all the way and tilt your head back a little so that you can get close to the lashes when applying eyeliner.

Tip 3:
When doing cat eyes, always use liquid eyeliner and aim for outside of your eyebrow... that always seems to be a good angle.

Tip 4:
Pull the eyelid outward at the corners to make them taut. You would get a straighter, thinner line this way and closer to the lash line too.

Tip 5:
If you line your top inner lid with black, it makes your eyelashes seem fuller. This can be done when you don't particularly want to wear mascara.

Tip 6
:
Use a small, angled, eye liner brush to brush the same color eye shadow as the liner over the liner. It makes it smoky, vibrant, and it never moves. You never have to reapply.

Halloween in Nigeria?

A few weeks ago a friend of mine sent me a message on facebook with a picture of a french maid costume telling me that she thinks that's what I should wear for Halloween. I was shocked!!!
Since when did Nigerians start dressing up for Halloween I wondered. But hey! I figured you only live once and so I ordered said french maid outfit for N10,500.00. Turns out that my friend is dressing up as a police officer and my other friend a sailor and we plan on going out tonight. I still cannot believe I am doing this, don't get me wrong, its not that I have not done this before, after all I dressed up as a school girl in my second year of Uni in the states and I remember my mom bought a Batman outfit for my brother a few years ago when he was in corona but I never thought that at 24 I would be doing this again seeing as I consider myself to be a serious minded person.
Turns out that this festival has been taken to greater heights in the U.S, it is no longer just for kids and hardly about trick or treating, oh no! it is now an excuse for adults to walk on the wild side and by wild I mean Sexy and if you don't believe me go to www.buycostumes.com
Having said that I have a few tips for looking sexy this Halloween

1. Do what you want, its the only time of the year that pretty much anything goes so please take advantage

2. Dont go overboard with tip number 1,still observe the rules of make-up so no blue eyeshadow, pink cheeks and redlips on the same face unless you are dressing up as a drag queen.

3. Sexy does not mean your boobs and ass should be hanging out (Sorry couldnt think of a better way to say it)

4. If you dont have anything to wear by all means grab a white shirt, a black mini skirt, a pair of socks, a tie and black shoes and go as a school girl. But don't forget the pig tails

5. Be safe and have fun!
